Leman Russ Vanquisher Stygies VIII

This Leman Russ Vanquisher was in the Forge World display cabinets at GamesDay 2007.

The Leman Russ Vanquisher is a more sophisticated version of the basic Leman Russ battle tank armed with the Vanquisher Battle Cannon. The special anti-tank ammunition used in this fearsome weapon is very useful against a foe with many armoured vehicles but of less use when facing a foe with smaller vehicles and hordes of infantry.

The Stygies VIII variant of the Vanquisher cannon, while lacking the immense length of the Gryphonne IV guns to generate shell velocity, utilises a slightly smaller calibre shell with increased barrel rifling.

Forge World Imperial Hellhound

Imperial Guard Hellhound, from the Forge World displays at GamesDay 2007.

This splendid Imperial Guard Hellhould was in the Forge World display cabinets at GamesDay 2007.

I really like this version of the Hellhound which looks much more like a flamethrower tank than the standard GW version.

Imperial Guard Rapier – GamesDay 2011

In the Forge World seminar, some new models were shown off. One of their other retro models they showed was the Imperial Guard Rapier.

This is a really nice model. I did have one of the original metal Rapier models from the 1980s.

I always liked this model, but I actually prefer the newer version from Forge World.

Imperial Guard Hellhound

This is a variant Imperial Guard Hellhound.

A superb model from Simon’s collection.

The main addition is the trailer which is, as most people can guess, from the Ork Skorcha model.

Rusty Chimera

This weathered, worn and rusty Imperial Guard Chimera conversion was an entry in the GamesDay 2008 Golden Demon awards.

Command Chimera

This looks like a really nice conversion of an Imperial Chimera into a command version. Alas I only managed to get a photograph from this angle.

Imperial Guard Sentinel

This very nicely painted Imperial Guard Sentinel was an entry in the UK GamesDay 2010 Golden Demon awards.

Really nice battle worn appearance and good pose. Not sure about the base, but it doesn’t detract from the model. I alwaysb like the idea that we think rockets should be red, but in reality I am sure that this would cause problems, making it much easier for the enemy to see and target you!

Another Minotaur

Imperial Guard Minotaur, this model was entered into the GamesDay 2010 Golden Demon Awards.

Elysian Tauros Assault Vehicle

I’ve always liked these Elysian vehicles ever since we saw them first at GamesDay 2009.

4-wheel Tauros is used by the Elysian regiments as a long-range scout vehicle, mounting potent anti-personnel firepower in the form of either a Heavy Flamer or Tauros Grenade Launcher. Its four wheels are individually powered by advanced high-yield galvanic motors, allowing it to maintain speed even with damaged tyres – often giving it a crucial edge when faced with superior enemy firepower.

I have decided to use them with my Daemonhunters’ Army with my Tallarn Imperial Guard. Before I start any model I have a look online at what others have done.

You get a small bag of resin.

Before I got started, I washed all the resin pieces.

A really nice model and doesn’t look too complicated to build, looks complicated to paint though.
