Space Marine HQ Command

At Warhammer World you can buy an Exclusive Space Marine HQ Command set of a Land Raider Excelsior and a Rhino Primaris. In the main display area there is an Ultramarines Land Raider Excelsior and Rhino Primaris.

The Land Raider Excelsior is a specialised variant of the Adeptus Astartes Land Raider that serves a command and control function for a Space Marine planetary assault as well as a role as a heavy main battle tank and armoured transport.

This is the Ultramarines Rhino Primaris.

The Rhino Primaris is a specialised variant of the standard Adeptus Astartes Rhino Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) that serves a battlefield support and command and control function. As a designated command vehicle, it possesses an unusually powerful array of Augur sensor arrays, Cogitators and advanced communications gear to carry out ship-to-surface coordination of a planetary assault.

Battle for Cadropolis

Cadropolis is the capital of the agri-world Masali.

The Tainted Sons have shattered the formidable defences of the hive city with a bombardment of incendiary shells and virus bombs. The Tainted Sons are a vectorium of the Death Guard and is now ready to overrun and destroy the hive city which has vital processor cathedrums.

Defending the hive city are Primaris Marines of the 2nd Company of the Ultramarines.

This diorama, at Warhammer World, was created, for the release of the new edition of Warhammer 40000 uses the figures from two Dark Imperium boxed sets (with some additional poxwalkers).

Ultramarines Razorback

Razorbacks are common variations of the Rhino chassis that can be armed with a variety of powerful turret-mounted heavy weapon systems that offer the squads they carry effective fire support before and after they disembark.

This Space Marine Ultramarines Razorback was on display at Warhammer World.

I have been working on (for too long now) a Grey Knights Razorback.

Ultramarines Life Size Rhino

The last time I visited Warhammer World it was back in 2012.  Back then the  life size Rhino  was right in the middle of the car park. Now it’s by the entrance to the revamped and new(ish)  Warhammer World.

It was originally used as a promotional piece for the THQ Dawn of War video game.  THQ gave the Rhino to Games Workshop who then gave it a repaint in Ultramarines colours. Here is another view of how it looks today.

It has suffered a little from being outside and is slightly battered and rusty, but this does make it look more “realistic”. This is how it looked six years ago, slightly shinier.

And this is how it looked at GamesDay 2008.

Just outside Warhammer World in the car park is the full size Rhino that was originally used as a promotional piece for the THQ Dawn of War video game.

Top Ten Posts of 2011

Another successful year for Felix’s Gaming Pages with over 450 blog posts put online. Slightly less hits this year, but that was in the main as I didn’t attend GamesDay 2011 and therefore didn’t live blog as I have done in previous years. So what were the top ten posts (by visits) for 2011.

10. It’s back…

Well the 10th most popular post was about the return of Space Hulk. I was never that into Space Hulk, I have never bought the game in its earlier incarnations, but lots of people bought the limited re-release, so much so, it sold out very quickly.

9. Warhammer Siege Diorama

This post was a live blog post from GamesDay 2010. I was posting photographs from the show live to the blog via my phone. This was of a fantastic Warhammer Fantasy diorama, the Siege of Altdorf. I also took a fair few photographs of the siege using my DSLR.

Some excellent scenery and very evocative of the Warhammer world.

8. Ultramarines Dreadnoughts

Some very nice Ultramarines Dreadnoughts on display at Warhammer World. Warhammer World is always worth a visit and I have spent lots of time looking at all the wonderful miniatures in the Citadel Miniatures Hall. Every time I have visited I have seen something new (and sometimes something old).

7. Bloodthirster Greater Daemon of Khorne

The Bloodthirster Greater Daemon of Khorne from the Forge World display cabinets at GamesDay 2004.

6. Space Wolves Space Marine Army

This post is from 2007 and was a photograph of an amazing Space Wolves Army. This is one of those displays at GamesDay which makes you go wow! And then you think how much did he spend…

5. Saurus and Slann

Another old post, from 2007, and another photograph from Warhammer World. A wonderful unit of Saurus Warriors with a Slann leading them. Part of the ‘Eavy Metal Lizardmen Army on display at Warhammer World.

4. Flames of War – Battle of the Bulge

This post was from 2011 and discussed the possibilities of a Flames of War Battle of the Bulge supplement that Battlefront mentioned in Feburary. Within the post I discussed the tanks that I hoped we would see in any such release including the M24 Chaffee and the Comet.

I also speculated how nice it would be to see some Late-War Monsters.

3. Marneus Calgar of the Ultramarines’ Land Raider

This post was all the photographs I had taken of Marneus Calgar of the Ultramarines’ Land Raider from the ‘Eavy Metal display cabinets at both GamesDay 2005 and Warhammer World.

2. Chaos BaneBlade

This photograph of a Chaos Baneblade that won the Silver Golden Demon at GamesDay 2007 is my second most popular post and the reason it is, is that if you put Baneblade into Google this image comes up!

Lots of photographs of the Baneblade.

1. Death Korps of Krieg

So my most popular post of 2011 was a posting from February 2009 about a link I had found in the community feed of some beautifully painted Death Korps of Krieg tanks.

Death Korps of Krieg

So will these same posts be just as popular in 2012, we will have to wait and see.

Land Raider on Campaign

This weathered, dirty Land Raider from a demonstrate game at GamesDay 2009, looks like it is has been fighting long and hard. Lots of crew equipment and “tank riders” as they once more move into another battle of their fighting campaign.

Likewise a Rhino from the same table.

Prometheus Command Land Raider

The Prometheus is an extremely rare variant of the famous Space Marine Land Raider. The few Chapters that have access to the Prometheus use it as a command vehicle due to additional sensor and communication equipment it contains. This allows Force Commanders to liaise with squads out of direct range and so better co-ordinate attacks and force actions.
