This is the Mark IIB pre-heresey Land Raider.
It is part of Mike Sharpe’s superb Space Wolves army, which was on show at GamesDay 2006.
The model is available from Forgeworld and is a very nice kit. I have one but have not yet started it. It is based on the plastic Land Raider kit, and the model is very similar to the Epic Land Raider.

This Ultramarines Land Raider is a UK 2006 Golden Demon Awards entry.
I don’t know about you but for me it looks a little “too busy”. Also some of the detailing needs to be finer.

Now I see why it won…
This is the painted miniature which won the Golden Demon 2005 Slayer Sword and this my slightly blurred photograph of it.
Personally I was not a great fan of it, and I didn’t really understand why it won.
Then I saw this picture…
Now I understand, just look at the detail.
Yes this was a well deserved winner.
