Imperial Knight

This was probably my favourite model at GamesDay 2010, an Imperial Knight.

Wonderfully scratch-built and a very nice paint job.

It’s the sort of thing that Forge World could and should produce as well as all their Titans.

Imperial Guard Sentinel

This very nicely painted Imperial Guard Sentinel was an entry in the UK GamesDay 2010 Golden Demon awards.

Imperial Sentinel with Missile Launcher.

Really nice battle worn appearance and good pose. Not sure about the base, but it doesn’t detract from the model. I alwaysb like the idea that we think rockets should be red, but in reality I am sure that this would cause problems, making it much easier for the enemy to see and target you!

Killa Kan

Killa Kan from GamesDay 2010 Golden Demon Awards.

The new plastic Killa Kans are really nice models and I like them a lot, they are much better than the metal versions. I have been working on three of them and you can read how far I have got on my workbench feature on them.

Another Minotaur

Imperial Guard Minotaur, this model was entered into the GamesDay 2010 Golden Demon Awards.

Imperial Guard Minotaur now in the hands of Chaos, this model was entered into the GamesDay 2010 Golden Demon Awards.

It won the Forge World Best of Show Award.

Killa Kan

Elysian Tauro Venator

A Forge World Elysian Drop Tauro Venator entered into the GamesDay 2010 Golden Demon Awards.

It has a nice trailer, however I am less sure about the presentation of the model. The sand dune it is jumping off doesn’t look much like a natural sand dune and needed a little more work to make it more realistic and convincing. I am also less sure about the posing and placement of the model. This is a pity as the painting is quite good and done well.

Inquisitor and his retinue

This very nice Witch Hunter and his retinue was an entry in the GamesDay 2009 Golden Demon awards.

I particularly like that the Inquisitor is mounted on a horse, very medieval.

Ork Stormboyz

These Ork Stormboyz were entered into the GamesDay 2009 Golden Demon awards.

Though they do look very nicely painted, the base in my opinion detracts from the miniatures. It’s too big and a little too busy, and the Orks blend too much into the base. Great for camouflage, but less useful for a painting competition where your miniatures do need to stand out more than normal.

Combine that with a busy cabinet and as a result you have some great looking models getting lost in the base and the cabinet.
