Grot Bomb Launched

Grot Bomb launched and bounced off the frontal armour again…

I do like the Forgeworld Grot Bomb Launcha and it is great fun in games.

This picture from a recent game is just after I launched the Grot Bomb at an Imperial Hellhound and as per usual it bounced off the frontal armour….

It seems to do that a lot, it strikes the target (always a tank), but fails to do any damage. Perhaps I should go for different targets such as infantry?

I think the real answer is to go for a few more and create a barrage of Grot Bombs, that may work…

You can see on my workbench feature how I put together and painted this excellent little model.

Epic Scale Grot Bomb Launcha

I still really like this conversion I did… I actually did this conversion some time ago.

However it still remains one of my favourite conversions. I do wonder if Forgeworld will ever release an Epic version of their own 40K scale modem, but they seem to take an age to produce Epic Ork models.

You can see how I made the conversion here.

Big Gunz – Zapp Gun

I do like the Big Gunz models that have been produced for the Orks, I don’t like the lists that all the Big Gunz have to be the same (though tactically I know that is better). I already have a Kannon so was pleasantly surprised when my mother in law for my birthday gave me a Zapp Gun.

It was easy to put together, though no instructions where to put the extra bitz, so they could be in the right place, more likely they are in the wrong place…

Big Gunz - Zapp Gun

It comes with two krew, but in reality you need more than two as they die very easily at which point the gun becomes useless.

I have already three extra krew which I got sometime ago, but never finished painting.

Big Gunz - Zapp Gun Grew

Two are gun krew whilst the model on the left is from the Skorcha model.

They are undercoated white, painted Goblin Green so far and equipment has been painted black ready for a drybrush of Boltgun Metal.

Battle Report

Well it would have been if the camera battery hadn’t failed

I was hoping to bring you a photographic battle report between Orks and Imperial Guard, however it seems that my digital camera has a faulty battery and thus “failed”.

You can see some of the pictures I took here.

The game went really well (for the Orks) but it was close. We played the Take and Hold scenario and after six turns a single grot and a few Orks held the objective.

It was the first opportunity for my Ork Grot Bomb Launcha on the battlefield and it failed miserably “bouncing” off the frontal armour plate of an Imperial Chimera.

My opponent put on his Medusa which was rather nasty…
