I am always impressed with the scenery that comes out from the Games Workshop Design Studio from the hands of such talented craftsman like Dave Andrews.
When such models are on display at GamesDay I do like to capture them with my camera and use the pictures for inspiration.
One such excellent model was this Warhammer Gate House which combined the Mighty Fortress and the Watchtower.
On display at GamesDay 2007.

So you’re an Imperial Commissar and you need a personal transport.
No way are you going to be happy with a Chimera or a Leman Russ, no you need the biggest and the best, you want a Baneblade super heavy tank.
This very nice Baneblade modified for an Imperial Commissar was on display at GamesDay 2007.

I took a wealth of photographs at GamesDay 2007. There were many games on display including some very nice Warhammer Historical games of which the Vikings game looked very nice. The scenery was excellent and very inspiring.
You can see more pictures of historical wargaming in the historical miniatures gallery.
With Warhammer Historical available, GamesDay 2008 wasn’t just Fantasy and 40K, in Hall 1 there were a fair few historical wargames on show using the various Warhammer Historical rules. This is nothing new, last year we saw was Aly Morrison and Dave Andrews’ excellent World War One demonstration game.
Demonstrating The Great War rules were two games one set in Gallipoli and one in 1914. Here are two pictures from the 1914 game, with British infantry moving forward through a farm and a line of British Infantry about to open fire on the advancing German army.
Beautifully painted and modelled.
Scenery was not as nice as Dave’s but was still very well constructured and impressive.
You can see many more pictures of the historical wargaming on my website.
