One of my converted Epic Ork Battlefortress.
I have replaced many of the supplied weaponry with different weapons. They include flak gunz from Flak Wagonz, Pulsa Rokkits and Buggy Gunnerz.
Another view.

Back at GamesDay 2001, Carl from Dropship, which alas has not been updated for many years now, put on a most excellent Epic demonstration game with some fantastic models and some fantastic scenery.
One of the key scenery pieces for me was the freight yard, railway track and one of the nice Forge World Tank Factories (which is sadly now long longer available).

In that shot you can also see the very nice (and also not available) Capitol Imperalis.
Sadly this model was never re-released nor was it re-imagined when Epic Armageddon came around (and went again).
I have seen what some people have done on the web, but I do wonder now and again if Forge World will ever release either an Epic or a 40K version or something similar.
One of my favourite pieces from Forgeworld was the Epic Cathedral. This is Carl’s (from Dropzone) which was part of the scenery from an excellent demonstration game of Epic at GamesDay 2001.

I really do like this model and Carl has done an excellent paint job on this.

So much better than mine…
Alas it is no longer available from Forge World which is a pity, the nice tank factory is also not available, ah well.
You have to ask is Apocalypse the new Epic, but just with a bigger table?
This was an Epic game (one of many) which was happening at GamesDay 2001.

Those are Ork Gunwagons advancing on some Imperial Guard Leman Russ and Hellhound tanks.
Back then there were quite a few games of Epic on show at GamesDay, this year there was (as far as I could see) just the one.
I have quite a large miniatures gallery of Epic miniatures on my website.

More pictures of Epic Ork Battlefortresses.
This is an original Eldar dreadnought (this is before they were called Wraithlords) with an Eldar Jetbike.

These were the “free” metal extras you got in blisters when Space Marine (first edition of Epic) was released.
The scenery is my ruined city tiles I made for epic quite a few years ago now.
Here are some pictures of the Forgeworld Epic scale Ork Bommer for Aeronautica Imperialis.

Though these were announced a few months ago, it was nice to see them for real at GamesDay 2007.

They are really nicely done models with a lot of character.

They’re not quite as I envisaged what Ork heavy bommerz would look like, these seem to be just more bulbous Ork fighters, whereas I imagined something along the lines of a spindly Marauder, maybe a little like a RAF Lancaster or Short Stirling from World War Two.
