Ork Stompa Gantry

I have been thinking about more Ork scenery for some time. When recently my son broke his toy crane I was inspired to take the broken section and use it as part of a Stompa Gantry. I have also used parts from an Ork Trukk, an Ork Battlewagon and Imperial Accessories.

I have used foamcard for the base and the majority of the model was stuck together with a hot glue gun.

Underground Building Entrances

Forge World released these entrances many years ago. These were on display at GamesDay 2005.

I’ve always thought of them as a weird concept and wondered why Forge World not only made one, but made a whole range?

Obviously they could be used as entrances to other buildings with someconversion and I have thought about that especially for the CityFight Photographic Tile that has been on my “workbench” for some time. At the moment it only exists on paper, but I do have a 2’ square piece of MDF to use for it!

I wanted to use mainly foamcard and cardboard for the “tile” as it would only be used for photographs and not for gaming. Though at 2’ square could be used for small scale squad actions, or for the Rogue Trader RPG.

As with many projects, at the moment it is in the pipeline and will probably stay in the pipeline for the forseeable future.

It also uses the plastic Realm of Battle gameboards and the plastic walls and fences.

Space Marine Statue – Honoured Imperium

This Honoured Imperium box set contains three pieces of plastic Warhammer 40,000 scenery, including a 6-inch high Space Marine statue, a broken Aquila and a section of ruined building. The statue (and variations) has appeared a few times before it was officially released.

The statue was a little more complex to put together. I did think it would have been nice to have some instructions. It was only after I completed the model that I realised that the instructions were on the side of the box.

Ruined Building – Honoured Imperium

The ruined building that is included in the Honoured Imperium (as an afterthought to fill the sprue?) comes in two parts.

These fit together very easily.

Ruined Building - Honoured Imperium

Though quite nice, there need to be more ruins to make it more “realistic” when setting it on a battlefield. I might use it as the basis for a diorama.
