Land Raider on Campaign

This weathered, dirty Land Raider from a demonstrate game at GamesDay 2009, looks like it is has been fighting long and hard. Lots of crew equipment and “tank riders” as they once more move into another battle of their fighting campaign.

Likewise a Rhino from the same table.

One possible interpretation of the Stormbird

This is one interpretation of the ~~Stormraven~~ Stormbird that was at GamesDay 2009 well before GW released their version in 2011. It is much bigger than the new plastic model.

The ~~Stormraven~~ Stormbird Gunship is an armoured versatile craft that combines the role of dropship, armoured transport and strike craft.

Space Wolves Thunderhawk

On my website I have a gallery devoted to the Space Wolves. The pictures predominantly show Mike Sharpe’s superb Space Wolves army, which was on show at GamesDay 2006, GamesDay 2007 and GamesDay 2008.

An Epic Space Marine entered into the GamesDay 2009 Golden Demon awards. The stickers indicate that it was short-listed, but it didn’t win.

Fortress of Redemption

The Fortress of Redemption is an indomitable fortress, a towering bulwark against the ravages of planetary invasion. First used by the Dark Angels of the Adeptus Astartes, these unyielding fortresses have since been used by every military force in the Imperium of Man, and have proved invaluable in the war against disorder. A nigh on unassailable stronghold, the Fortress of Redemption bristles with weaponry, a missile silo and two bunker annexes.

This is quite a “constrained” piece of scenery in that it is very specific terrain piece that has, in my opinion, little use outside a Dark Angels army. If this had been a non-specific Space Marine chapter fortress I am sure I would have bought one, as I suspect many others would as well. Having said that I do like the fact that Games Workshop as well as producing non-specific terrain also makes specific terrain.
