Forgeworld Newsletter #167

++++ MESSAGE BEGINS ++++

Hello everyone,

February brings you another newsletter from Forgeworld, and we have some really good stuff for you in the shape of some great new main battle tanks for our Krieg armour range, as well the AX-1-0 Tiger Shark variant and the Grot Bomb (oh yes!) for Aeronautica Imperialis.
Thx,

Alan Bligh
Forge World.

Krieg Armour

Our two Krieg tank releases this newsletter are both ‘firsts’ for Forge World. The new Death Korps of Krieg Leman Russ Annihilator is a brand new variant. Armed with the tank-destroying ‘annihilator’ configuration twin-lascannon commonly found on the Space Marine Predator`s turret, this Russ specialises in hunting down and destroying enemy armoured forces.

Our other new release is the Death Korps of Krieg Leman Russ Demolisher. The heavily armed and armoured Demolisher siege tank has long been a staple of the Imperial Guard Codex, and this Krieg variant is the first Demolisher kit that Forge World has produced.

These two tanks are not only very effective additions to your Krieg army, but also I`m sure they will be sought after by Armoured Company, Renegades (I`m thinking of nabbing one for mine!) and Guard players alike, as they look great as well as being real battle-winners.

Both of these kits are available to order now for release the week commencing the 26th of February by clicking here. They feature the highly detailed Krieg modified Mars pattern hulls and Ryza pattern turrets, trench rails and air filters, the Krieg Tank Commander with Heavy Stubber as well as all the plastics you need to put together a Leman Russ (including the tank accessory sprue).

Experimental Rules for the Leman Russ Annihilator can be found by clicking here.

(Even More) Death From the Skies!

With Aeronautica Imperialis going from strength-to-strength we have two more releases on the way to get Tau and Ork players salivating. First for the Tau there is the Tiger Shark AX-1-0; once more a fantastic small-scale rendering of its Warhammer 40K `big brother` by Will Hayes, the AX-1-0s come two to a pack and are quite sizable, with a 75mm/3inch delta wingspan. The AX-1-0s are also real killers in the game; their heavy rail guns can blast apart the staunchest ground targets with ease, and with the Seeker Missile upgrade they can engage multiple targets on the ground or in the air (they’re one of the few Tau craft able to use them in this way,) making for a very nasty surprise for any enemy pilot that underestimates them.
As nice as the new Tiger Shark is, I must admit my favourite release this month is the Ork Grot Bombs for Aeronautica. As well as looking good, frankly I just enjoy the idea of these lunatic grots laughing manically as they ride their one-way rockets toward the enemy for death and glory, it`s just so damn Orkish! They`re also pretty effective in the game for scattering enemy formations and blowing high-value enemy target`s into little bitty pieces.

Grot bombs come eight models to a pack; four of these are designed to be attached to larger Ork aircraft (who get the Grot Bombs as an upgrade), and four to mount on the Aeronautica bases included and go screaming round the board.
