++++ MESSAGE BEGINS ++++

In issue 132 of the Forge World Newsletter we have two new variants of a classic Imperial Guard tank to show you, a few details about a show we have just booked and details on final ordering dates for Christmas.
Thx,

Ewen Little,
Forge World.

New Imperial Guard Hellhounds
The Hellhound is one of the best weapons the Imperial Guard have for clearing enemy infantry out of heavy cover as the lethal gouts of flaming promethium ignore cover saves. With thicker side armour than on a Chimera, the Hellhound can withstand more punishment, allowing it to use its horrific firepower to great effect and cleanse the enemies of Humanity with purifying flame! The two Forge Worlds of Graia and Artemia both produce very similar variants of this popular close-support tank. Both patterns of Hellhound carry the armoured promethium tank low on the rear of the chassis, pumping the fuel for the Inferno Cannon forwards through thick pipes and into the hull of the tank. The front of both vehicles has a large armoured hatch over the front of the driver’s compartment which forms the only means of entering and exiting the Artemia pattern Hellhound. The turret is where the two designs diverge: the Artemia pattern turret is far smaller than the Graia variant and is operated with just the head and shoulders of the gunner within the turret itself. This makes for a smaller turret and a lower silhouette on the battlefield. Some Imperial Guard commanders prefer the greater visibility that a classic tank turret design can offer. The Graia pattern Hellhound reflects this thinking with the tank commander able to raise himself up out of the hatch to view the immediate battlefield, although the larger turret does make the vehicle a slightly larger target and unwary commanders can fall prey to enemy snipers! Both great new Imperial Guard Hellhound models are available to pre-order now for release from Monday November 21st.

Phaeton Pattern Defence Platform
One of the first things onto the ground when the Imperium starts to set up a new base of operations is a defence network, and the Phaeton pattern Defence Platform forms an important part of these networks. Armed with two long-barrelled autocannon, the Defence Platform is capable of destroying all but the heaviest vehicles whilst still having a reasonable rate of fire to be able to engage multiple enemies successfully. Sitting a high off the ground on its specially designed quick-erection platform, fire can be directed over friendly assets when confronting ground targets but it also gives a clearer field of fire for defending the base against aerial attack. Similar defence systems are often incorporated into Phaeton pattern complexes, making possible the redeployment of Defence Platforms as the base expands, or movement to an entirely new installation. The versatile Phaeton pattern Defence Platform is available to pre-order for deployment from Monday November 21st.

Honour Guard – Veteran Open Day
On Saturday November 5th Forge World will be attending the ‘Honour Guard – Veteran Hobby Day’ at Warhammer World in Nottingham. The GW Events team have structured this event to especially appeal to the older gamer and hobbyist. The link below to the GW UK Events Diary will be updated every week with more news on what you can expect to see and be involved with when you come along, so do check it for these updates! Forge World designer and model-maker Mark Bedford will be working all day on our stand, showing how to customise some of our most popular scenery pieces to create really individual and characterful terrain for your battlefield. On the Forge World stand we will have a whole host of our models available to buy including the pieces Mark will be using if you want to re-create some of his ideas. Also remember this is a perfect opportunity to pick-up a Christmas present or two for yourself! Next to Mark we will have a fully textured and painted gaming board that he has made using the new Phaeton pattern buildings for the next big Imperial Armour book, ‘The Anphelion Project’ out next year. We will also have a beautifully painted example of our huge 40K Fortress Walls on display so you can really appreciate the size of this mighty kit. If you fancy coming along, tickets for this great event can be obtained from GW Direct Sales or on the GW online store.
