Forgeworld Newsletter #131

++++ MESSAGE BEGINS ++++

Welcome to the latest Forge World Newsletter folks. What do we have to show you today? Well, lots of new experimental rules, but to begin with we take a look at our next two sheets of etched metal icons and the interior sections from the Phaeton pattern complexes. To finish off, we have details on a couple of upcoming shows that Forge World will be attending.
Thx,

Ewen Little.
Forge World.

Imperial Complex Interior Panels
For those of you wanting to make your own scenery, dioramas, or just have some extra pieces to convert what you already have, these four new releases could be really quite useful. Each panel measures about 50mm/2inches across and has a flat back so they can easily be attached to your chosen wall or surface. The cables and pipes running all over the place add to the industrial feel of the panels but for me the Xenos Dissection Table is the real gem and certain to prove popular. I love the little mechanical arms with their cutters and syringes, you can really imagine it all working, cutting away on some hideous alien body with goo running across the table and down the drain holes on either side. I really like the servo-skulls, hardwired into some of the panels, monitoring the equipment and overseeing simple tasks too. The Xenos Specimen Tanks set is another favourite of mine as you can have great fun putting ‘samples’ inside or even having them burst open as if the thing in the tank has escaped.

Large Etched Metal Eagles
This new sheet of large Imperial Eagles is made up of fewer, beautifully fine symbols etched from nickel silver sheet nearly twice the thickness of the very popular smaller brass eagles we released a few weeks ago. The four large Imperial Eagle icons have a wingspan of 64mm/2.5inches and will be just great for use on buildings, Titans, dioramas and whatever else your imagination leads you to. The extra thickness gives more relief when painting but is still manageable enough to be bent into almost any shape you require.

Etched Brass Inquisition and Grey Knights Symbols
Now this is a lovely piece of work. The way that the writing on some of these Inquisition plates has come out is just unbelievable with individual letters only about 0.5mm in size! This sheet has all sorts of icons, badges and plates etc that can be stuck onto almost anything from power armoured Grey Knights Space Marines to Inquisitorial Thunderhawk Gunships.

Shows and Events
We only really finished unpacking all the models after Games Day UK yesterday afternoon, it was one of the best Games Days Forge World has attended. To all those who came along to the Forge World areas, we hope you had a great day and enjoyed what we had for you to see and talk about. Our show calendar for 2005 is not finished yet though; we have Games Day Spain to zoom of to in Barcelona on November 13th and Scale Modelworld 2005 over in Telford on the 19th and 20th of November. As of today, we are happy to take any reservation orders for Games Day Spain or Scale Modelworld 2005. If you have not taken advantage of this free service before let us explain why it makes good sense. At events like these Forge World cannot always take every single model with us and we can run out of some of our more popular models. Having what you want to buy from Forge World reserved for you means you don’t have to rush over first thing because we pick and pack your order a few days before the show and it is sitting waiting for you! In fact you don’t even have to collect your reservation until later in the afternoon so you don’t have to carry huge bags around with you all day either. To place a reservation, just email us a list of what you want to buy and your name to forgeworld@games-workshop.co.uk or give us a call and we shall take care of the rest. More information on both of these shows can be found on the Forge World Events page by following the link below.

New Rules and Updates
If you follow the link below, you’ll find that we have uploaded a whole pile of new experimental rules as well as an article on ‘Imperial Armour Volume 3 – The Taros Campaign’ where Warwick answers the most common rules related queries about the book. He has given us a set of rules for the excellent new Slaanesh Keeper of Secrets model which allow he/she/it to be used as a Special Character in games of Warhammer 40,000 under the guise of Zarakynel, Bringer of Torments. We also have experimental rules available for both the huge Warhammer Fire Dragon and Warhammer Chaos Two-headed Dragon. These models are absolutely massive and I think these new rules reflect the awesome power these monsters would be able to wield on a battlefield. (Note to self: Add one Fire Dragon to Xmas wish list)
