Citroën U23 Light Truck

This Citroën U23 Light Truck in German camouflage was part of Tankfest 26.

The Citroën U23 (or Type 23) successfully bridged the gap between passenger car elegance and workhorse utility. By marrying the distinctive, swept-back front grille and wings of the revolutionary Traction Avant with a conventional, rugged rear-wheel-drive chassis, Citroën created an instantly recognisable aesthetic that defined French roads for decades. Originally powered by the same dependable 1.9-litre four-cylinder engine found in the Traction Avant, the 2-ton truck proved to be incredibly versatile, serving as everything from open flatbeds and enclosed vans to city buses. Its durability became a vital asset during World War II, during which it was heavily utilised by the French military and subsequently requisitioned in large numbers by German forces. Remaining in production for over thirty years until 1969 the U23 cemented its legacy as one of the most enduring and beloved backbones of mid-century European transport.

Krondys Son of Dracothion

Imperial Fists Scimitar-pattern Jetbikes

Serving as the premier high-speed shock assets of the Legiones Astartes during the devastating Age of Darkness, Scimitar-pattern Jetbikes are masterpieces of forgotten technology. Reengineered from highly complex, pre-Imperium STC designs, these sleek machines are essentially compact, low-altitude aircraft integrated with powerful grav-impellor engines. The anti-gravity plates allow the Scimitar to completely ignore treacherous terrain, skimming over shattered warzones to deliver fully armoured Space Marines into the heart of combat at breathtaking, near-supersonic speeds. Typically organised into Sky-hunter squadrons, these jetbikes carry devastating heavy weaponry mounted directly into their streamlined nose cowlings—such as heavy bolters, plasma cannons, or multi-meltas—allowing them to shred enemy formations on the fly. By combining the unstoppable durability of Legion power armour with unmatched aerodynamic agility, the Scimitar Jetbike ensures that the warlords of the Horus Heresy can seize the initiative and strike the decisive blow before the enemy even registers the roar of their thrusters.

British Vickers Light Tank Mk IV

T1344 is a surviving British Vickers Light Tank Mk IV, currently housed in the reserve collection at The Tank Museum in Bovington, Dorset, UK. Built in March 1935 at the Elswick Works in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, it features the original War Department registration number T1344 painted on its left hull side alongside the military census number. The tank was running at Tankfest 26.

Imperial Fists Land Raider Proteus

These Imperial Fists Land Raider Proteus armoured vehicles were on display at Warhamemr World.

The Land Raider is widely considered the best armoured fighting vehicle of its kind in the Imperium, serving as the main battle tank for the Space Marine Legions. It’s an incredibly powerful machine, with multi-layered composite armour and a reinforced hull that are nearly immune to even heavy weapons.

This sealed vehicle can resist attacks from any direction and operate in almost any environment, from acid swamps to rad-deserts, without any performance issues. It can even function in the vacuum of space, meaning there is no battlefield where its armoured fury can’t be unleashed.

The Land Raider Proteus is a venerable and ancient pattern of battle tank dating back to the Dark Age of Technology, making it one of the most archaic yet revered vehicles in the arsenal of the Space Marine Legions during the Horus Heresy. Unlike its more modern Phobos and Crusader counterparts, the Proteus lacks the forward assault ramp, instead featuring a distinct, boxy hull and two separate variants: the Carrier and the Explorator. The Carrier is designed for close-quarters assaults, delivering its payload of a dozen Space Marines directly into the heart of the enemy, while the Explorator variant is equipped with a sophisticated augury web and dozer blade, allowing it to navigate treacherous terrain and act as a mobile command and scouting platform. Its powerful machine spirit is a hallmark of its vintage, granting it an uncanny durability and the ability to fire its weapons at different targets with a single command.

Fans who have been playing Warhammer 40,000 since its debut will recognise this model. It’s a new take on the original Land Raider, which was released in 1987 with the first edition of the game, Rogue Trader. Forge World previously released a resin version, but a new plastic kit was made available as part of The Horus Heresy product line.

M24 Chaffee Tanks

There were two M24 Chaffee tanks on display at the Bovington Tank Museum for Tankfest 26.

Both were part of the displays in the arena.

The Light Tank M24 was an American light tank used during World War II and in postwar conflicts including the Korean War and with the French in the First Indochina War and war in Algeria.

In British service it was given the service name Chaffee, after the United States Army General Chaffee, Jr, who helped develop the use of tanks in the United States armed forces.

Dwarf Ironbreakers

Dwarf Ironbreakers on display at Warhammer World.

Dwarf Ironbreakers are elite underground sentinels, dedicated to defending the deepest tunnels of the Dwarfen realms from subterranean invasions. They are heavily armoured shock troops, encased in masterfully crafted suits of gromril plate. Etched with ancient runes of protection, this exceptional armour shields them from the unique perils of the deep caverns and the devastating blows of their enemies, allowing them to hold narrow choke points against overwhelming numbers.

Kettenkrad SdKfz 2

This Kettenkrad was on display at the Bovington Tank Museum for Tankfest 26 and did make it to the arena.

The Kettenkrad SdKfz 2 started its life as a light tractor for airborne troops. The vehicle was designed to be delivered by Junkers Ju 52 aircraft, though not by parachute. The vehicle had the advantage of being the only gun tractor small enough to fit inside the hold of the Ju 52, and was the lightest mass-produced German military vehicle to use the complex Schachtellaufwerk overlapped and interleaved road wheels used on almost all German military half-tracked vehicles of World War II.

Space Marine Bikers

Operating as the hard-hitting vanguard of the Adeptus Astartes, Space Marine Biker squads and Primaris Outriders combine the genetic fury of a transhuman warrior with the unstoppable momentum of a heavy armored steed. Mounted upon rugged, twin-bolter-equipped combat bikes, these shock troops excel at rapid reconnaissance, flanking maneuvers, and lightning-fast spearhead assaults.

The bikes themselves are heavily armored, all-terrain behemoths powered by roaring multi-fuel engines, engineered to smash through enemy lines and withstand grueling battlefield conditions. Driven by seasoned battle-brothers who interface directly with their mounts via their power armor’s black carapace, a bike squadron can cross treacherous terrain at incredible speeds before unleashing a devastating point-blank volley of bolter fire and charging into close quarters with chainswords raised. Whether operating as the wide-ranging scouts of the White Scars or the disciplined flank-guards of the Ultramarines, Space Marine bikers ensure that a Chapter can project its overwhelming force exactly where the enemy least expects it.
