Gathered from the dusty roads, tavern taps, and impoverished hovels of the Empire, the Free Company Militia are desperate bands of men recruited, or coerced, to fight in their lords’ wars. Unbound by uniform or formal military doctrine, their ranks are a ragtag tapestry of hardened mercenaries who live by the strength of their sword arms, pitted outlaws, and frightened peasants wielding rusty pitchforks and improvised weapons. On the battlefield, they fight with the raw, brutal tenacity of men who have nothing left to lose, unleashing erratic bursts of pistol fire before charging into the fray with a chaotic frenzy of blades, clubs, and sheer desperation.
