Dwarf Miners

Dwarf Miners in Warhammer: The Old World are a unique and highly prized unit within a Dwarf army, embodying the very essence of their race’s connection to stone and the earth. Unlike the axe-wielding warriors who fight on the surface, Miners are equipped with the heavy, two-handed mining picks and mattocks they use in their daily lives, tools that are just as effective at hewing rock as they are at cleaving skulls. Their most defining and tactically crucial feature, however, is their ability to “tunnel” beneath the battlefield. Led by a veteran Prospector, they can enter the fray from an unexpected quarter, arriving from the depths of the earth behind enemy lines. This special rule allows them to wreak havoc on an opponent’s battle plan, appearing right where they are least expected—whether it’s to attack a vulnerable flank, threaten a powerful war machine, or simply break the morale of a foe by emerging from what was thought to be a secure rear. Their heavy chainmail, designed to protect them from rockfalls, also proves to be an effective defense against enemy blades, making them a formidable and resilient shock troop.
